SAHBA Fall Home & Garden Show at TCC October 18, 19 & 20

TUCSON, AZ (September 26, 2013)–There is something for everyone at this year’s Southern Arizona Home Builder’s Association (SAHBA) Fall Home & Garden Show happening Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20, at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC).
Twice each year, SAHBA takes over the TCC with hundreds of exhibitors highlighting what’s new in home improvement trends, remodeling ideas and outdoor living, as well as dozens of presentations, classes and seminars, pet adoptions, a live radio broadcast and lots of fun and interactive activities for the kids.
At the SAHBA Stage, SAHBA members will offer presentations and seminars. Katherine Kent from the Solar Store will discuss the benefits of solar, including financial savings and how to make your home more energy efficient. Val Romero from Arizona Grill and Hearth will be on hand to give the latest grilling tips and offer samples of his tasty creations. Patty Richardson from Casa Linda Designs will present the latest interior decorating tips for your home.
The Home Depot Stage and booths in the Exhibit Hall will be busy all weekend with “Great American Fix-Up” presentations and seminars on topics from “preparing your backyard for winter” to “enhancing your home lighting and security.” Home Depot staff will be on hand with
activities, giveaways and games.
Saturday is Kids’ Clinic Day at Home Depot’s “Little Helper Headquarters” where kids can build, learn, create and have fun! This free hands-on workshop, designed for children ages 5-12, teaches do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. And, on Saturday, don’t miss Homer the Home Depot Mascot.
The Michaels Craft Stores Stage will have lively demonstrations daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on topics like knitting and crochet techniques, jewelry and bead making, how to create memorable scrapbooks and home baking hints. Michael’s experts will be on hand to answer arts & crafts questions and to hand-out Michael’s store coupons. On Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Michael’s will host free make-it and take-it crafts and face painting for kids.
Central Pet will take over the arena with their Central Pet Experience, featuring agility training and canine nose search demonstrations as well as presentations by Dr. Randy Aronson from PAWS Veterinary Center. The Animal Experts will be on hand to educate people about critters found in Southern Arizona backyards. Pet adoptions from Pima County Care Center will once again be taking place all weekend.
Other highlights include: Southwest Greens demonstrating their backyard Sports Court daily in the arena; Romey Romero’s popular “Rosie on the House” radio show will broadcast live from the Home Show and a drawing to win a free custom set of golf clubs from Superior Golf Products.
The Food Court will feature BBQ 4 U, as well as other food vendors outside in the TCC fire lane.
This year’s major sponsors include Home Depot, Patio Pools & Spas, Southwest Gas, Kinetico Water Systems, Mattress Firm and Central Pet.
The TCC is located at 260 South Church Avenue. Free public parking is available at all TCC lots.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
General admission is $8 for adults, free for children 12 and under, and half-price for military with ID. $2 off discount admission coupons are available at SahbaHomeShow.com. On Friday only, people 50 years and older will be admitted at half-price.
