SAHBA Home & Patio Show Set for April 8, 9, 10 at TCC Celebrates Its 40th Year

Tucson, AZ - Tucson's own Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) Home & Patio Show is set for April 8,9 and 10, 2011, at the Tucson Convention Center (TCC), 260 S. Church in downtown Tucson. This is the 40th year of this locally produced home show for Tucson businesses.
Show hours are 10 am to 7 pm Friday and Saturday; and 10 am to 6 pm Sunday. Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over.
In addition to the latest in home improvement ideas, this show has several new features, such as the Lowe's Spectacular Outdoor Living Give-A-Way, sponsored by KHYT. The Outdoor Living prize package includes a outdoor barbeque grill, patio furniture set, an array of potted plants and more. Show attendees can register to win each day. Three consumers from each day will return to the show Sunday at 4 pm for an opportunity to win the prize.
Southwest Gas's Greener, Better, Smarter Program features a display of new home appliances.
Friday at 3:30 pm, Pima Council on Aging is presenting its Matter of Balance education program that focuses on preventing falls and reducing household hazards for adults 60+ and their caregivers. Susan Bovre, MS, a fall prevention specialist and Master Trainer, will teach exercises to increase balance and strength and provide practical tips to eliminate hazards in the home.
Michael's will host make-and-take Kid's Crafts activities and product demonstrations on Saturday from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.
Saturday from noon to 1 pm, Ultima Self-Defense will present is “Bully Tuff” program that teaches children how to defuse bullying by other children and adults. Sunday from noon to 1pm, Ultima Self-Defense will present a seminar on home and neighborhood safety and self defense.
On Friday and Saturday at 5:30 pm and Sunday at 4 pm, nine time World Karate Champion Johnny Linebarger, president of LDL Tactical and Director of KoSho Karate, will explain and demonstrate the use of modern tools and techniques designed for reality-based personal protection. Instructors include retired law enforcement officer Lt. George White and retired Fire Chief Todd Pearson.
All three days of the show Tucson Pet Lovers, featuring pet products and services, will be in the TCC arena.
Artisans and crafters return to the TCC Ballroom.
Seminars offering insights into remodeling will be held throughout the weekend. SAHBA's Remodeler of the Year Gregory Miedema will answer remodeling questions and walk you through the home remodeling process.
This home show, a showcase for hundreds of businesses and services for home improvement needs, is one of Tucson's biggest shopping venues, with many visitors spending three or more hours there. Major show sponsors include Patio Pools & Spas (a sponsor since the first show in 1971), Bedmart, Southwest Gas, and Kinetico Water Systems. Solana Outdoor Living is a new Sunflower sponsor.

General admission is $8 for adults; children 12 and under are free. 50% off military discounts are available all three days.
In addition to ground parking surrounding the TCC, free parking is available Saturday and Sunday at the City/State garage at Manning House Way and West Congress. Free shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes every day from the garage to the east entrance to the TCC. Street parking meters are free Saturday and Sunday.
